This study aimed to identify baseline conditions related to the fulfilment of rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities (PWPDs) across 40 villages in Purworejo District. Using a mixed-methods approach and a socio-ecological framework, the study explored PWPDs’ access to healthcare, social participation, and the barriers they face—including stigma and limited family and village support.
Findings revealed low awareness among village officials and health workers about mental health issues and suboptimal service governance and coordination.
Recommendations: strengthening village-level service capacity, developing community-based interventions, and promoting inclusive policy advocacy for PWPDs and their families.
